At the central Derby showrooms and workshops of leading local Citroen motor dealer, Bristol Street Motors, Mace Fire undertook major works to supply and install a critical fire protection system.
Part of the Vertu PLC owned group which is the tenth largest in the country, Mace Fire won the contract to upgrade the fire protection system operated at their premises.
The initial survey confirmed that dedicated fire alarm and protection systems were required in the buildings, with detectors placed at critical locations.
In the workshops, fire is a potential threat when vehicle servicing and maintenance is undertaken. The Mace Fire fitted system, which incorporates Smoke and Heat detection devices, along with strategically placed call points, importantly provides the staff and the contents of the facility with a high level of protection. Alarm panels and powerful siren systems were installed that can easily be heard above the ambient noise-levels in the workshops.
For the Sir Frank Whittle Road showrooms, the Mace Fire installation team carefully fitted smoke detectors in ceilings and at critical areas of the sales area. The team is experienced in installation work that creates the minimum disturbance and the dealership continued to operate as normal whilst the works were completed. Larger works were also carried out after hours including testing of the new systems.
